Much had been said about Deepika Padukone stealing away the show from the former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with her traditional Indian look. Now, Ash has taken up the opportunity to silence her critics and she appeared in a true Indian flavour as the trailer of Mani Ratnam’s bilingual Raavan/Raavanan was screened to the media at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival. The event was attended by the lead stars of the movie, Vikram, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai who looked stunningly beautiful in her black saree.

Suhasini Mani Ratnam, the film’s co-producer and dialogue writer for the Tamil version, said that the film would help “Us understand the grey parts that all of us have in us…None of us is completely white or black”. She also praised A R Rahman for his work and said, “In fact, the music accentuated picture. Songs have a great role to play. They do take the plot forward.”

Ash was also there for the premiere of Oliver Stone’s latest flick, ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’, starring Hollywood big shots Shia LaBeouf, Josh Brolin, Carey Mulligan, Charlie Sheen, Michael Douglas and Susan Sarandon on Friday and she wore a stunning pink Gucci gown for the occasion.

After premiering successfully in New York, the Roshans’ much awaited mega budgeted film ‘Kites’ had a glittering premiere in London at Leicester Square. The entire Roshan clan was there to celebrate the moment and they candidly admitted that they were quite anxious to see the fate of the film.

Among those present were Hrithik Roshan, Barbara Mori, Sussanne Roshan, Rakesh Roshan and wife Pinky Roshan, Anurag Kashyap and wife, Rajesh Roshan and wife, plus senior members of the Reliance Big Pictures team.

After the New York premiere on Monday evening, the team had to fly off for the London premiere but that’s when the ash clouds struck again and almost all the flights to Europe had to be cancelled or diverted. It was a nail biting moment for the team who finally made it successfully to London.

Sanjeev Lamba, the CEO of Reliance Big Picture, said, “Flights carrying all of us landed on Monday evening. We were in American and British Airlines. Both landed safely and on time.”

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel on Saturday evening, outside her Juhu gym, was seen in a heated exchange of words with her driver who is in his early 50s.

The heated argument took a ghastly turn as Ameesha assaulted her chaffeur.

A passerby who witnessed the incident said:

“Ameesha’s new car was parked outside the gym. When she emerged after her workout, she saw a tiny scratch on the side of her car, and flipped out. She started hurling abuses at the driver and kept asking him for an explanation. When he couldn’t come up with an answer, she slapped him hard across his cheek.”

This isn’t the first time the actress has lost her temper on her driver. He has been driving her since her Kaho Na Pyaar Hai days and is used to her temperamental behaviour, but he has never encountered violence before.

However when contacted Ameesha, she out rightly denied the story. She went on to claim that she hasn’t taken her car to the gym in the last three years.

“This is utterly ridiculous. Nothing of this sort has happened. My house is walking distance from the gym and I just take my driver with me to hold my umbrella. You can come to my gym and ask around if anything to this effect happened. It’s all lies and I will be very unhappy if this comes out.”

Kareena Kapoor has been giving the producer of Milenge Milenge nightmares, by postponing and not giving dates to shoot the promotional video, which on her request is being shot separately, and not with Shahid Kapoor.

It has become next to impossible to get both Shahid and Kareena together in the same frame. With Milenge Milenge being stuck in the pipeline for the longest time, this dilly-dallying by Bebo has been a further hindrance.

A source from the unit reveals,

“On Kareena’s say they decided to shoot the promotional video separately and merge them while editing. Shahid shot his part, and Bebo still had to finish her part. But the actress kept postponing and giving her dates to her other projects. She was busy shooting for Stepmom and now it is Golmaal 3 in Goa.”

The source continues,

“Boney had a word with Kareeena while she was in Goa and plans were also getting implemented for them to go shoot her part in Goa. But her hectic schedule in Goa also cancelled this plan.”

I wonder when will this movie release!!

Dia Mirza, who has tasted success just once or probably twice in her entire career till date says that if her latest flick Hum Tum aur Ghost doesn’t do well she will look for some other career than being in Bollywood.

Dia says, “I can’t be an actor all my life and expect the same money to come to me.”

It is being learnt that the actress is planning to have her own real estate company. The former beauty queen says,

“I will soon open my company. I’m looking to make myself a weekend home out of Mumbai. I would love to do it in the idyllic Lavasa.”

Mallika Sherawat very well knows how to grab attention. The actress succeeded in grabbing the audience attention at Cannes when she chose to walk the red carpet with a snake, in order to promote her film.

Mallika who is playing a snake-woman in her next flick Hisss was spotted hissing about her strange in Cannes.

However, the actress failed to steal the attention of our two very beautiful Bollywood hotties.

Sources present there revealed that both Deepika and Aishwarya refused to get close to Mallika and pose with her. However, the other Indians at Cannes were quite proud of Mallika’s achievement.

The actress also got to sign quite a few autographs.

The volcanic ash has not only crashed the private plans of some of our Bollywood stars but have also given sleepless nights to our prodcers. One such producer is Said Nadiawala whose summer comedy ‘Housefull’ which is set to release this 30th is facing a filemma as the commerical flights have been cancelled and  as per release rules the delivery overseas has to be made a week in advance of the release day.

So, Sajid Nadiawala is left with no other option but to hire private jets to take the prints of his movie to England and other European countries.

“This is most unforeseen. In all my years as a producer I’ve never encountered such a a crisis. There’re about a 100 prints to be taken into the Europe. Air traffic has come to a standstill.

I’m hiring private jets to carry the prints to the nearest city with an open air base. From there the prints will be taken to various Euopean cities by train or road. I’m so desperate I’m ready to employ any means of transporation…planes, trains, automobiles, whatever is available,” said Sajid.

Apart from the extra expenditure, Sajid also has other things to worry about. He says, “It doesn’t really matter how much money it would cost. The important thing is to get the prints to the European centres on time. Or else the entire overseas release would be affected.”

Sajid is in no mood to celebrate the completion of his movie ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ and says, “Ranbir Kapoor had a wrap-up party for Anjaana Anjaani. But I wasn’t able to attend because of the these two back-to-back crisis at my workplace. Now I’ll celebrate only when Housefull is released properly everywhere.”

She said fumingly,

“It’s horrendous, despicable. That’s the lowest kind of journalism that can ever be. My only regret is that I didn’t pursue it in court. And the reason I didn’t do it is because I didn’t want my sister to be dragged through the muck even in reference. It’s the only time I’ve ever regretted being famous. I have no mercy for those who did it especially to someone who is underage and who’s not even had a boyfriend.”
She adds,

“The sad thing is that when you click on the link, you can make out that the woman is 35 years old. It’s there for everyone to see. So people knew it was not true but still went ahead with the story because it was sensational. It was deplorable. And if people have any decency left, they will not bring it up again when she comes here. It’s unpardonable.”

Seems the problems for Kangana Ranaut-Madhavan starrer “Tannu Weds Mannu” never ceases to end. First it was Kangana’s injury which set the shoot of the film to a halt and now another shooting schedule planned in a mosque in this Punjab town had to be cancelled owing to the protests by the local residents. The shooting had to be cancelled on the orders of Kapurthala deputy commissioner Rajkamal Chaudhary.

A police official reported, “Members of the film unit had started installing the sets inside the mosque Friday night. On seeing this, members of Muslim community gathered outside the mosque and started raising slogans against the administration and the filmmakers. They threatened to interrupt the shooting as it would allegedly affect their religious sentiments.”

The movie is produced by Shailesh Singh and directed by Anand Malhotra. Besides Kangana and Madhavan, the movie also has Jimmy Shergill in an important role.

As the release date for ‘Kites’ comes nearer, the entire industry seems to have their eyes set on the fate of the film. ‘Kites’ will have a grand premiere in New York at Times Square on 16th May and Suzanne Roshan is already there in advance to spend some time shopping out before attending the so very important moment for the Roshans.

Giving her company is SRK’s wife Gauri and old friend Karan Johar. Shahrukh himself will not be able to make it as he is busy with the shoot of ‘Ra 1’ but he made sure that Gauri was there as Roshans are very close to him.

Karan Johar, too, is not leaving any stones unturned when it comes to giving his support, be it placing compliments and praises on social websites or taking days off to be there at the right moment.

Speaking from New York Karan confirms, “Gauri and Sussanne Roshan are here. We’re having the time of our lives. I am not thinking about work at all. Just enjoying myself.”

“It’s a big film for the Roshans who are very close to me and Shah Rukh. The success of Kites is also very important to the film industry. I’ve a release I Hate Luv Stories coming up in July. And if Kites works it’d mean favorable things for my films,” adds Karan.
